About The Position

Henderson County Young Life is seeking a new Area Director. “Hendo YL” is a strong area in the beautiful small-town of Hendersonville in the mountains of Western NC- just outside of Asheville and within a 45 minute drive of TWO Young Life camps (Windy Gap and Carolina Point). In 2015, a core group of interested adults began meeting and praying for God to bring Young Life to this community. Out of that core group, a Young Life Committee was formed, funds were raised, and the first Area Director was hired in 2017. Since that time, leadership, Club, Campaigners, the Committee, a tradition of Camping, and a strong donor base have been established and continue to grow and thrive. By God’s grace, the area is in a strong place financially and still has room for continued growth. We have a group of very committed adult volunteer leaders who have depth spiritually and a huge heart for kids. YL leaders have a ministry presence at two of the four public high schools in the area currently. A great foundation for Young Life has been laid in Henderson County and is ready for an effective Area Director to use this platform to carry out our mission to kids, impact lives, and make significant change in our community through the Gospel. We are looking for an Area Director with personal depth with Jesus and a heart for others to grow in Christ and reach the lost. We are seeking someone to help us develop our current ministries and eventually grow into the other high schools in the county. The Area Director will need to be able to recruit and work with adult leaders, be a builder of community, foster cohesive relationships between leaders and committee, and proactively integrate into the Hendersonville community at large. Area Director I Summary: Through spiritual leadership and proper management, lead in developing a team in the area to carry out Young Life’s mission of introducing kids to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.
