About The Position

The Area Director I position at Young Life involves leading a team to fulfill the mission of introducing kids to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. This role requires spiritual leadership and proper management to develop a team in the Central Delaware area. The position emphasizes spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support, all while adhering to Young Life's policies and maintaining professionalism.

Requirements

• Must have completed Core Training – Phase One.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
• A call to reach kids with the Gospel.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead in developing a team to carry out Young Life’s mission.
• Develop a yearly personal growth plan for spiritual life.
• Ensure all Young Life ministry is carried out with a dependence on prayer.
• Partner with the Regional director and Committee to cast vision for reaching every kid.
• Create a spiritual leadership plan for volunteer leaders, staff, and committee members.
• Recruit and train new staff and leaders.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate area staff.
• Provide quality summer staff and resources for summer camps.
• Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
• Develop and lead the area’s fundraising strategy.
• Coordinate and conduct quality events to build the Young Life brand.
• Engage in contact work, lead a Young Life club, and supervise Campaigner ministry.
• Manage finances with stewardship and transparency.
• Set yearly strategic ministry plans and review them regularly.
