Area Coordinators provide strategic leadership for a residential quad of two to four residence halls. Each Area Coordinator lives in and directly manages one hall while supervising and mentoring professional Hall Directors and part-time Assistant Hall Directors within the quad. This structure supports a cohesive, mission-aligned residential experience across multiple communities while maintaining a strong presence in each residence hall. Grounded in the University’s Catholic and Holy Cross tradition of residentiality, Area Coordinators cultivate communities of belonging, care, and formation while advancing the University’s sequential housing model, inclusive of first-year formation and vibrant upper-division living. As most Hall Directors and Assistant Hall Directors are graduate students in the University’s Higher Education and Student Affairs programs, Area Coordinators mentor emerging professionals in a dynamic “teaching office” environment. In addition to comprehensive full-time benefits and retirement contributions, this 12-month live-in position includes a furnished apartment, utilities, meal plan, parking, phone stipend, professional development support, and 95% tuition remission for UP’s graduate programs, including the EdD.
