About The Position

As the Area Manager - Construction Projects at Crescent Electric, you will assist and implement an overall Construction Project strategy for the North Pacific Super District. In this role, you will manage and drive the territory’s construction project sales team through employee development and sales goal setting. This role requires business-related travel throughout the territory. Requirements

  • Strong PC skills (i.e. MS WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, etc,).
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time-constraints.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Overnight and the ability to travel between branches is required.
  • Four-year college or university; or 10 - 15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Candidates are subject to pre-employment assessments, Motor Vehicle Record review, criminal background checks, references check, and a post-offer drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and implement an overall Construction Project strategy for the North Pacific Super District.
  • Manage and drive the territory’s construction project sales team through employee development and sales goal setting.
  • Direct reports would include Lighting Specialist, Gear Specialist and Project Managers.
  • Responsible for the area Construction Project team to meet and or exceed the goals and objectives as outlined in current business plan/budget.
  • Interact with electrical contractors, architects, engineers, and owners to suggest products to be used on all types of construction projects.
  • Continually train, educate, and update the project team’s knowledge and talent to be the leaders in lighting, gear, and latest innovations and codes.
  • Collect and analyze quotations data to determine patterns of success or failure.
  • Measure by product type, manufacturer, bid amounts, and customers.
  • Be a member of the Project POD Council.
  • Help develop cross regional project support with other AMCPs and the National Project Team.
  • Become intimate with the MCA generation 3 and 4 vision.
  • Help the AVP or DM develop and maintain key Contractor relationships and targets to become generation type 3 and or 4.
  • Work to strengthen and build the relationship with key suppliers.
  • Be able to negotiate key project deals that add additional margin.
  • Work with the Pricing Analysis to develop consistent pricing for small, medium, and large Contractors.
  • Work with Supply Chain to promote our Value-Add Services, such as DTS, Kitting, etc...
  • Help coordinate the tools needed to offer VAS like Fixture Carts, Clam Shells.
  • Support and act as a resource for utilizing tools, such as eCommerce, digital marketing, StockNow, and digital selling.
  • Assist in developing a Large Contractor Project Play Book.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination of employee training, and evaluation of employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraising performance.
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
