The Area Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the constructability of design and plans developed during design and prior to contractor site mobilization and has a focus on a specific area of the project. The Area Construction Manager will also have some responsibilities for the definition and implementation of temporary facilities on site. The Area Construction Manager will relocate to site in Baja Mexico prior to contractor mobilization. During site mobilization, the Area Construction Manager has responsibilities for the construction and commissioning of temporary facilities. After mobilization to site, the Area Construction Manager is responsible for the construction management of a primary element of the project scope of work, monitoring/providing feedback on the EPC contractor's day to day construction activities, ensuring work flow with site permits and ensuring that Project is constructed in accordance with all applicable permits and codes/standards the Verification Unit has full access to perform their function as needed. The Area Construction Manager will draw on other internal, Owner's Engineer or other third party resources to provide specialists as required to address conflicts, technical specialty questions and any other construction issues that arise. Many of the specialists will rotate to support commissioning and start up once mechanical completion has been achieved. This position initially reports to the Project Manager and is located in the Contractor office during the engineering phase and transition to the project site prior to Contractor mobilization. This position will ultimately report to the Project Construction Lead.
