About The Position

The primary role of the Area Construction Manager is to structure and facilitate budgets, set and maintain schedules, oversee on-site safety and make sure that everyone completes duties on time. You will communicate with many people, including contractors, construction workers, architects, vendors and clients. They make sure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the client's specifications. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree inconstruction management
  • 7 years previous construction experience preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills -- both written andverbal
  • Strong attention to detailStrong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience in supervising, coaching, and leading a team
  • Valid Driver's License

  • Homebuilding Software experience a huge plus

Responsibilities

  • Walks product to insure quality standards are being met at various stages of progress
  • Works with builders to source and secure additional trades as needed
  • Ensures that blueprints, takeoffs and budgets are correct
  • On job training of all Builders in process and procedures
  • Approves all sub-contractor payroll
  • Monitors Builder communication with sales in order to maximize closings and customer satisfaction
  • Conducts bi-weekly builder meetings with team
  • Conducts weekly individual planned encounters.
  • Coordinates supply/trade issues in project with purchasing department
  • People evaluation - goals vs. reality on production, variance, surveys
  • Evaluates and maintains effectiveness of staff, maintain minimum performance level via training/hiring/replacementFacilitates training for builders as needed
  • Manages variance to budget
  • Coordinates builder loading and coordinate start timing and pace
  • Maintain and enforce work place safety requirements
