Area Chef Manager/ Relief Manager - Southern CA
About The Position
CulinArt Group operates over 250 onsite corporate, higher education, private school, healthcare and destination recreation/leisure dining facilities in 18 states, including cafés, coffee bars, concessions, executive dining, catering and conference dining, social catering/special events, office coffee service and vending. We are seeking a dynamic and growth-minded Area Chef / Relief Manager to support CulinArt's culinary and food service operations across the Southern California market. The ideal candidate will be based in Orange County and open to travel to support locations in Los Angeles and San Diego as needed. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of both culinary excellence and overall food service operations across assigned locations. This position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel as business needs arise.
Requirements
- Must have a working knowledge of HACCP
- Three years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining setting, or restaurant with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
- Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Experience with exposition cooking needed
Nice To Haves
- The ideal candidate will be based in Orange County, CA
- Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
- ServSafe certified is a plus
- Open to travel to LA and San Diego, CA as business warrants
- Possesses a passion for sustainability
- Proficient in menu development, cost controls, purchasing, and inventory with a focus on sourcing and utilizing local food products
