About The Position
The Area Cafeteria Lead, Floater position is responsible for covering for the Cafeteria Lead or Sr. Cafeteria Lead in emergencies and vacancies at kitchens in a designated geographic area as needed by food services management. The role includes assisting with the management of an elementary school cafeteria, ensuring compliance with health department regulations, USDA program regulations, and the operating procedures of the Department of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS). The position requires effective communication of food service policies and procedures, estimating production needs, ordering food and supplies, reviewing production records, ensuring proper food storage, and following sanitation practices. The Area Cafeteria Lead will also process vendor invoices, train new employees, and assist with routine site visits to monitor adherence to program policies. Attendance at management training classes and meetings is required.
