The Area Business Development Manager is responsible for promoting and selling products, services, and solutions to potential customers through our GPO partner programs. This role requires producing new account revenue in line with the organization's and individual targets and quotas specific to the Area. The manager will identify key targets in the Area and work closely with the RVP National Sales and Area VP, National Sales to gain alignment on strategies and objectives. Tracking and monitoring the pipeline and business development opportunities is crucial to successfully moving customers through the sales cycle. Additionally, the Area Business Development Manager will identify and drive organizational alignment and resources to support the value proposition and onboarding of customers, which includes collaboration with Finance, Operations, Merchandising, and Logistics teams. The manager will assist central onboarding and Area teams as needed to ensure a successful transition of accounts to Account Executives and Sales & Service Directors. Training and embracing the sales process and selling techniques for the GPO programs is essential, including documentation and reporting. The manager must become an expert in the value propositions of all key GPO partners to facilitate the selling process and ensure that promises made are within contractual boundaries. Monitoring and evaluating sales training programs, assessing results, and recommending enhancements are also part of the responsibilities to ensure the effectiveness of programs and the achievement of revenue and profit objectives. Frequent overnight travel is required for this position.
