About The Position

This hourly position will function as an operations lead for YL One, ensuring that staff are supported and equipped to carry out ministry to foster, incarcerated, and homeless youth. This role will coordinate the area’s major fundraising events, manage behind-the-scenes systems, and keep the broader team on track with timely reminders and follow-through. Because YL One serves foster, incarcerated, and homeless youth, a genuine heart for walking alongside this population is essential.

Requirements

  • High school education or its equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Two to four years previous administrative assistant experience preferred.
  • Ability to type 55 to 60 words per minute with few errors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and processes.
  • Good grammar skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Detail-oriented multi-tasking ability.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Initiative with developing processes/systems around events.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fundraising event coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the planning and execution of major fundraising events, with an understanding of the increased workload leading up to these events.
  • Managing logistics for sponsorships, guest lists, donor engagement, and event communications, ensuring all activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Executing social media and communications strategy to promote events, share ministry updates, and engage with the community and donors.
  • Supporting day-to-day ministry tasks, including administrative duties and communications, while balancing event responsibilities during peak seasons.
  • Acting as the organizational 'hub' for the staff team—prompting, requesting, and tracking items to ensure things happen in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining a high level of organization and time management; this is a must for the success of the role.
  • Assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned, depending on the needs of the ministry and organizational goals throughout the year.
  • Managing the natural ebbs and flows of workload across the year, balancing event coordination with steady operational support.

Benefits
