About The Position

The Archives Technician position at the National Archives and Records Administration involves assisting with the delivery, transfer, reference, and management of federal records. Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level, which includes operating office automation programs and reviewing files for completeness.
  • OR 4 years of education above high school.
  • OR a combination of experience and education.

  • Familiarity with federal records management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reference services by searching for records in various filing systems.
  • Refile or interfile records in various filing systems such as alphabetic, numeric, and case file number.
  • Perform duties related to the acceptance of incoming transfers of Federal records.
  • Use the Archives and Records Centers Information System (ARCIS) to search for records.
