The GMC Georgia Architecture Studio has an opening for a Senior Project Manager/Project Architect in Augusta, GA. The Project Architect/Project Manager is responsible for the technical execution and delivery of exceptional projects. Revit knowledge and a desire to mentor are requested traits from our team. We are one of the largest, privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, recently recognized by ENR as Southeast’s Design Firm of the Year for 2024. We have 27 offices located throughout Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Who knows where this road may take you?! Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited architectural program.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Architect registered in Georgia or completed NCARB Program.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Must be able to listen and communicate effectively.
  • Must be a self-starter, team player and able to establish good working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, team members, and other employees.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt with changing business needs.
  • Ability to use good judgment and make timely decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Leads project teams working within the GMC Georgia Architecture studio.
  • Member of a multi-office architecture practice sharing, contributing, and learning best practices for delivering exceptional projects that include local government/civic, academic and healthcare primarily.
  • Broad general knowledge of architectural principles and practices, and proven ability to apply them.
  • Proficient in Revit Architecture, and complementary design tools.
  • Assigns tasks to and directs architects, technicians, and administrative staff.
  • Ability to function effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
  • Understanding of entire project process-development/scoping, design, and construction.
  • Ability to design and detail a complete project, system component or process.
  • Prepares complete project documents including the Project Manual/Specifications.
  • Understands economic and decision analysis principals in area including financial, regulatory, and environmental issues.
  • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the architectural work.
  • Prepares scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments.
  • Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.
  • Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.
  • Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of architectural assignment.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and continuous improvement with decision-making, time management and delegation.
