Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited architectural program
  • Minimum 5–10 years of architectural experience, including project management responsibility
  • Licensed Architect (RA) in Georgia or ability to obtain Georgia licensure within 6 months
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and familiarity with complementary design tools
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter, team player and able to establish strong working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and team members
  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and ability to make timely decisions
  • Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and business priorities

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams within the GMC Georgia Architecture Studio.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary and multi-office teams to deliver exceptional civic/municipal, education, justice/public safety, and commercial projects.
  • Assign tasks, guide project staff, and mentor emerging architects and designers within the Savannah office while demonstrating strong leadership, delegation, and decision-making skills.
  • Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring successful delivery across scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules and manage overall project delivery from project initiation through construction.
  • Coordinate architectural design and technical documentation across all phases of a project.
  • Contribute to design development and provide technical leadership in detailing building systems, components, and architectural solutions.
  • Prepare and oversee project documentation including drawings, project manuals, and specifications.
  • Lead construction phase services including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with contractors.
  • Participate in client development efforts including proposal preparation and interview presentations.
  • Interact with clients, public officials, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Present design ideas and project updates during meetings and client presentations.
  • Apply sound architectural judgment and problem-solving while considering project financial, regulatory, and environmental factors.
