This 3 to 5 weeks Rotational Micro‑Internship is designed for first‑ or second‑year Architecture or Interior Design students interested in gaining early exposure to HNTB’s Architecture Practice. Throughout the internship, interns will rotate between Architecture and Interior Design, gaining insight into multiple practice areas and market segments while building a foundational understanding of how integrated design teams collaborate. This position is a fully in‑person experience and will take place at HNTB’s Downtown Los Angeles office. Relocation and housing are NOT provided for this position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in post-secondary architectural or related program

Nice To Haves

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Architecture or Interior Design as a first‑ or second‑year student.
  • Demonstrates a strong interest in architectural and interior design disciplines.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Able to work in person, on‑site five days per week at the Downtown Los Angeles studio.

Responsibilities

  • Performs elementary architectural assignments and works from designs of others.
  • Compiles data, performs basic computations and prepares working drawings on projects of limited scope.
  • Assists in compiling data for architectural plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, business development, etc.
  • Assists in conducting preliminary studies to obtain information as to space and design requirements, obtaining measurements and making sketches preliminary to the preparation of contract drawings.
  • Researches, gathers, and records information for use in writing specifications.
  • Performs basic analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
