About The Position

Staff member on the path to licensure with professional architectural experience in design, Revit modeling, graphic presentations, and technical drawing on a variety of project types. Performs specific and limited assignments from a direct supervisor using prescribed methods. Under general supervision, works from the design of others and performs routine and limited architectural assignments. Makes substantial progress toward completion of the Intern Development Program (IDP) and is preparing for the Architectural Registration Exam (ARE). Requirements

  • Bachelors of Architecture (5-year professional degree preferred), Master of Architecture, or equivalent degree from an accredited program with
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of architectural experience.
  • Skills with Revit modeling, 3D modeling programs, design /sketching skills preferred but not mandatory, and Adobe Suite.
  • The Architectural Staff 2 has acquired the knowledge, experience and skills of the Architectural Staff 1.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions consistent with the established design intent.
  • Performs graphics, area calculations, sketches, material presentations, researching products and materials for project, supervisor and client needs.
  • Assists in the production of technical working documents related to Architectural and Interior design development and construction documents. This occurs at all phases of the project.
  • Prepares drawings using appropriate means (Revit, SketchUp, hand sketches, other software).
  • Uses established examples to create a duplicate (“one-off’s”) for review by superior/team.
  • Pursues varied exposure to and knowledge of architectural systems/process.
  • Supports the lead architect in coordination with MEP and structural consultants. Provides information and model conflicts to the team to review during meetings.
  • Preliminary knowledge of building codes and where to look up initial information needed for the project.
  • Assist the Project Architect in construction phase services to gain knowledge of the process and constructability issues.
  • Assignments may include higher-level work for training/development purposes, under close supervision.
