About The Position

ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT DESIGNER As a member of the Redmond Facilities and Construction team, you will be directly responsible for translating engineering and production requirements into executable plans. You will also manage and update campus maps and individual building drawings as the needs of the business evolve. You will work with a group of elite engineers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure that will enable high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity across the globe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in design, architecture, or other engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with a digital modeling platform (Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite
  • 3+ years of professional experience in facilities design, renovation, or construction

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of working knowledge of digital modeling platform and management tools (Navisworks, BIM 360, Autodesk Force and/or ReCap)
  • 1+ years’ experience in BlueBeam Revu / Extreme software and collaboration management in these tools
  • Skilled in reading, interpreting and creating engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management best practices.
  • Excellent document management and organizational skills
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
  • Familiarity with industry standards & codes
  • Experience with importing and exporting metadata from models into lifecycle management tools
  • Ability to create / modify custom applications
  • Self-starter and possess the drive to pursue continued education on technologies utilized in the company

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design of multiple concurrent projects that are part of a larger program of work, each in different phases and with different A/E consultant teams and groups of stakeholders
  • Work in collaboration with project stakeholders to develop project scope.
  • Perform feasibility assessments of proposed projects from architectural, fire/life safety, structural, and MEP standpoint
  • Create and execute design solutions for problems of form, usability and physical ergonomics as required to be able to communicate project requirements and options to stakeholders.
  • Liaise end user project requests with external design consultants and internal construction/facilities groups
  • Coordinate the work of multiple disciplines involved in the design of each of the project scopes
  • Review and manage project request tickets, create work orders when needed and manage to completion
  • Participate in the design process, including coordinating technical review of all discipline work, scheduling design reviews with all project stakeholders, and measuring and reporting on design progress to project management team
  • Participate in the design and construction bidding process, including attendance at pre-bid meetings and walks, processing of pre-bid RFI’s, producing of documents to assist with securing construction contractor bids, and review of Vendor proposals and award of project
  • Assist project team in CAD / BIM project setup and collaboration through the project. Set-up project templates, workspaces, libraries, design options, hyperlinking and plots.
  • Integrate 3rd party vendor drawings into existing building drawing sets.
  • Space planning for office assignments, furniture/ décor selection, management and tracking
  • Create conceptual/architectural renderings and create as-built documents for projects after completion of constructions
  • Coordinate permit acquisition/closeout with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction including performing quality assurance checks on permit sets and support building and fire inspections
