AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Architectural Historian to join our Cultural Resources Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Tampa, FL.   • Conduct historic resource field surveys.
  • Conduct background research on historic resources using a variety of primary and secondary sources.
  • Evaluate historic resources for eligibility in the National Register of Historic Places in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and other relevant environmental laws.
  • Assess effects to historic resources, including working with engineering professionals and the overall project team to avoid or minimize impacts in accordance with Section 106 and other applicable regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports for distribution to state and federal agencies, including creating project and resource maps in ArcGIS.
  • Maintain internal and external delivery schedules for all assigned projects, prioritized by project baseline schedule dates.
  • Provide project status updates at meetings and serve as the point of contact for any historic resource questions on assigned projects.
  • Must be prepared to spend some time in the field and travel to project sites, with some overnight visits required . Projects will generally be in Florida but could also be outside of the state, as needed.
  • EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years of full-time professional Architectural Historian experience, including conducting historic resource surveys and background research, plus demonstrated ability to carry projects to completion.
  • EDUCATION: At a minimum, must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards for History or Architectural History, including a degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or a closely related field.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent written, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Attention to detail is a must .
  • General understanding of the following industries: transportation, infrastructure, state and local governments, and/or regulatory/compliance.
  • The position may require the use of a company vehicle. The applicant must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company policy.
  • Basic level of experience with ArcGIS is desired; intermediate to advanced experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with reading transportation engineering plans is highly desired but not .

  • Expected compensation range is between $ 51 , 5 00 - $ 68 , 7 00 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
