About The Position

Klein & Hoffman is seeking Architectural Engineering interns for our Chicago, Milwaukee and Philadelphia offices. We are a team of restoration architects and structural engineers delivering projects that expand the functionality of buildings and facilities. We investigate, assess, and develop repair/rehabilitation designs for existing buildings. Our internship program provides a well-rounded experience on the various stages of project delivery as well as onsite construction observation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in either a Master’s degree program or completing a Bachelor’s degree with intent to enroll in a Master’s degree program in Architecture or related field
  • Must be motivated, take initiative and have a curiosity & desire to learn
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Interest in Architecture with a focus on rehabilitation of existing structures

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge in Revit is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of design, construction documents, and solutions to building envelope rehabilitation projects
  • Work with Project Managers or Inspectors to conduct on-site investigations, condition assessments, and construction observations, which may include documenting field notes, drawings and photographs
  • Assist in preparation of designs, repair quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams and schematic drawings
  • Research and maintain conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes
  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
