About The Position

Mungo Homes has a new opening for an Architectural Drafter at their Corporate office in Irmo, SC. This position is responsible for generating and maintaining residential construction documents following company drawing standards. Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of computerized design software.
  • Advanced experience with AutoCad (specifically Xrefs, Paper Space, & layer management).
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD and its commands and the ability to use such things as model space, paper space, layer management, and XREFs.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SketchUp (other BIM programs correlate/translate).

Responsibilities

  • Produce residential construction drawings (elevations, floor plans, foundation information plans, construction details, and electrical plans) complying with company drafting standards.
  • Utilize AutoCAD LT for production of drawings.
  • Maintain plan library and update drawings as needed per code changes, design changes, added options, added elevations, etc.
  • Follow defined Plan Maintenance/Revision Process.
  • Redline work performed by staff to ensure an accurate set of documents is produced.
  • Ensure the consistency, neatness, and accuracy of plans produced.
  • Work with field construction staff, engineers and building trades (primarily truss manufacturers) as needed.
  • Conduct periodic and as-needed site visits.
  • Contact/correspondence with all levels of the organization during the new product release process and/or plan change release process.
  • Create renderings and other materials used by Marketing.
  • Create or maintain various spreadsheets or drawings used/referenced by other departments including but not limited to Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Land Development and Executive Staff.
  • Collaborate in the design process and is always encouraged to share ideas.
