About The Position

The Architectural Designer will lead the development of design alternatives using various media, including computer visualization tools like AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Enscape, and physical models with 3D printing. The role requires ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning laws, accessibility standards (ADA), and life safety regulations. Responsibilities include preparing presentations and visual materials to effectively communicate design ideas for internal and client presentations, collaborating with clients and project teams to translate their vision into functional and aesthetically pleasing architectural drawings. The designer will utilize Revitzo for coordination with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration and real-time updates of design changes across all disciplines. Critical review of shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and submittals is essential to maintain design intent and integrity throughout the project lifecycle. Site visits, field surveys, and construction observations will be conducted to ensure alignment with contract documents and quality standards. The designer is expected to stay current on industry trends and best practices through conferences and continuing education, perform comprehensive material research, and curate mood boards to showcase design concepts. Additionally, the role involves conducting research on construction techniques and sustainable design practices, integrating knowledge from coursework in building technology and environmental design, and working towards architectural licensure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
  • Any amount of experience in collaborative design workshops.
  • Experience in reviewing building layouts for accessibility and building code standards.
  • Experience in performing site visits and documenting architectural plans.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit software for drafting and updating architectural drawings.
  • Experience in researching local, state, and national codes for compliance.
  • Experience in creating 3D models and renderings using Revit, SketchUp, or Rhino.
  • Ability to enhance visual presentations with Photoshop.
  • Experience in organizing and managing project records.
