About The Position

AECOM seeks an Architectural Designer IV for our growing NY Metro Building + Places team to work on interesting and challenging projects for a variety of clients. This role will be based out of our New York, NY office. The Architectural Designer IV will be responsible for the following, but not limited to: Provide architectural guidance, technical analysis, calculations, studies, and recommendations for assigned projects, ensuring quality delivery within schedule and budget. Develop solutions to complex technical and design challenges. Assist in the development and application of new architectural methods, tools, and techniques. Prepare, review, and approve architectural drawings and construction documents in accordance with client, project, and office standards. Perform project setup, drawing layout, modifications, and reviews using AutoCAD and Revit. Coordinate architectural design activities with engineers, consultants, and other disciplines, both in-house and external. Work as part of multidisciplinary teams to plan, schedule, and deliver architectural services from design through construction documents. Provide regular coordination and status updates to Project Managers regarding scope, schedule, and budget compliance. Support design, technical, and administrative coordination for academic, transit, and other public and private sector projects. Lead and coordinate architectural efforts during Construction Administration, including: Responding to RFIs, Reviewing submittals, Conducting field visits, Preparing architectural bulletins and revisions Lead and support project close-out activities, including coordination with clients and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), preparation of post-amendment approvals, and support through final sign-off. Lead and oversee the work of architects, designers, and specialists of varying experience levels. Mentor junior architects and designers, including setting technical objectives and supporting professional development. Assist in the training and evaluation of architectural and drafting staff. Attend client presentations and progress meetings to communicate design intent and technical information. Assist in the preparation of work effort estimates and architectural scope input for proposals.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Architecture or equivalent degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
