About Merritt & Harris (M&H): Since 1937, JLL/Merritt & Harris (www.merrittandharrisinc.com) has been a national leader in construction consulting, representing lenders and real estate investors on a variety of complex and high-profile projects including professional sports facilities, hotels, retail spaces, industrial, office and residential buildings. As an Architectural/Engineering Intern at JLL, you will: Assist expert design and construction professionals, including Registered Architects, Licensed Engineers, Construction Managers, and Cost Analysts with various tasks including but not limited to reading architectural/engineering construction documents, assisting in the review of project documents, digitally performing area take offs, and help analyze construction budgets and trade breakdowns using in-house cost databases Contribute to the evaluation of project scopes, budgets, and teams for investment decisions and gain exposure to a wide range of building types across the United States and internationally The candidate will have the opportunity to shadow Project Managers on construction site visits where Merritt & Harris observes construction activity and reviews monthly requisitions from Development Teams on behalf of our client. Work with a dedicated due diligence team focused on comprehensive and timely reporting. Requirements

  • Pursuing a professional degree in Architecture and interest in Commercial Real Estate is a plus
  • Candidate should have completed at least 3rd year of undergraduate program or 2nd year of master’s program
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
  • Understanding of on construction document preparation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF Editing Tools (Bluebeam, Acrobat Pro, etc.)
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn is a must
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent thinking and work abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple individuals and meet deadlines
  • Proactive and self-motivated mindset
  • Highly energetic and able to work independently
  • Excellent customer service, relationship-building, and presentation skills
  • Permanent US work authorization required.
