Architectural Design Intern - Summer 2026

CedarAustin, TX
9dOnsite

About The Position

Help reinvent how housing gets designed, permitted, and built in America. Cedar is building the operating system for urban housing delivery. We combine architectural expertise with software, automation, and data systems to dramatically accelerate how projects move from land acquisition to approved designs and construction. The result: faster timelines, higher quality, lower risk, and more housing in the cities that need it most. Our team blends architects, engineers, and product builders. We design real buildings — and we build the software systems that make great architecture scalable. In this role, you will get exposure to several architectural design projects in progress at Cedar and also be included in collaboration sessions with our software engineers. During this internship, you will see projects at all stages of design and development. From meeting with developers when they start to look at land, and helping them strategize land plans, to getting some time in the field looking at projects under construction, you’ll get glimpses into all of the facets that make projects happen. This internship is based in Austin and in person with the Cedar architectural team. The timeline of this role is a standard 10 - 12 week summer internship, ideally from mid-May through mid-August, although Cedar is open to discussing timing that works with one’s academic schedule. This internship is intended for undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in an architecture, urban design, or related design program.
