Requirements

  • Previous internship experience preferred.
  • Relevant architectural experience in one of Flad’s market segments preferred.
  • Portfolio that demonstrates a high level of skill in design thinking + presentation media required.
  • Proficiency in Rhino or SketchUp + 3D rendering software required.
  • Beginner Revit knowledge required; have at least one year recent Revit experience in an academic or professional setting. Understands how Revit works but may not have completed a project from start to finish. Has made edits to existing drawings, models, etc. Intermediate Revit knowledge preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture required. NAAB accredited professional degree or Master’s degree in architecture preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with real time rendering engines (Enscape, Twin Motion) to generate still animations + renderings, Augmented Reality (AR) + Virtual Reality (VR), visual scripting programs (Grasshopper + Dynamo), Adobe Creative Suite, + AutoCAD preferred.
  • Sustainability accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare presentation materials (conceptual drawings, 3D renderings + visualization, digital 3D + physical models)
  • Develop and modify design + technical solutions throughout all phases of a project.
  • Contribute to design discussions, idea generation, + design work in drawing, model and 3D image formats.
  • Work closely with team members to complete projects on aggressive schedules by meeting deadlines within expected time + budget constraints.
  • Generate revisions + corrections from outline mock-ups, redlined drawings + project documents.
  • Attend client meetings to observe process + develop presentation skills.
  • Participate in construction site visits to understand the process.
  • Recognize conflicts that arise during construction + offer alternatives to resolve these issues.
