About The Position

The Architectural Acoustic Consultant will provide expert acoustic design and consulting services across a variety of projects, including performing arts venues, educational institutions, and commercial spaces. This role requires a deep understanding of acoustical principles and collaboration with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver innovative sound solutions. The consultant will manage projects from concept through post-construction evaluations, ensuring high-performance acoustic environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Acoustical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in architectural acoustics.
• Experience with sound and vibration test equipment.
• Familiarity with building codes and environmental noise regulations.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software, especially AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficiency in using simulation tools for acoustic modeling.
• Strong analytical communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Project management experience with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

• Professional accreditation or certification (e.g., INCE or AIA) is a plus.
• Experience with specialized acoustics in media production spaces and performing arts venues.
• Familiarity with sustainable design principles and green building certifications (LEED, WELL, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead acoustical design and consultation services for various projects.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring client expectations, budgets, and timelines are met.
• Provide expert advice on noise control, sound isolation, and room acoustics.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to integrate acoustic design into building projects.
• Use acoustical modeling software to analyze and optimize acoustical performance.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes and regulations.
• Conduct post-construction evaluations and suggest remedial measures.
