About The Position

The position is located in the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, Program Development, Coordination and Support Directorate, Office of Design and Engineering, Architectural Design Division (OBO/PDCS/DE/AD). OBO is the single real property manager for the planning, acquisition, design, construction, operations, maintenance, and disposal of U.S. governmental diplomatic and consular property overseas.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Annual Confidential Financial Disclosure required within first 30 days.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

  • Experience planning and directing an architecture and design management program that establishes strategic priorities in the creation of buildings.
  • Experience managing, supervising or mentoring a group to manage workflow and ensure program requirements are met.
  • Experience presenting architectural concepts to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the national authority on overseas diplomatic architecture and technical requirements for buildings under design.
  • Direct development of technical support requirements by reviewing worldwide requests for construction, improvements, and renovation, and ensure recommendations and drawings provide for the quality and technical integrity of such projects.
  • Manage the preparation, negotiation, and administration of Architecture and Engineering support contracts for OBO's multi-billion-dollar embassy construction, renovation, and maintenance programs.
  • Manage/supervise a group of direct hire employees, PSCs, and 3rd party contractors and provide mentoring.
  • Determine which projects and activities should be initiated, suspended, curtailed, expanded, or emphasized and the staff and resources to devote to projects and activities undertaken.
