LOCATION: This position requires onsite presence 5 days a week at Tinker AFB ABOUT THE JOB The Tepa Companies are seeking an Architect to support our contract at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma and will conduct design development and contract document work sessions in the Sustainment, Restoration & Moderation (SRM) and Consolidated Sustainment Activity Group (CSAG) sections of the 72nd Civil Engineer Directorate.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry
  • Licensed as a Registered Architect, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Must have strong communication skills including verbal, written, and graphic communications.
  • Background in producing contract documents and construction administration.
  • Department of Defense operations familiarity a plus
  • Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point)
  • Self-motivated individual with strong, organizational, problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Department of Defense operations familiarity a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates owner/client and internal meetings, and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
  • Monitors workload through design development and construction document phases to complete documents on schedule
  • Reviews architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
  • Writes/edits architectural specifications, and works directly with Senior Architect and client to establish and document the legal parameters of the construction contract
  • Assists, with affected disciplines and with any addendum, RFIs, CPRs and change orders and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents
  • Provides, on an as needed basis, construction contract administration
  • Conducts construction cost estimating for all projects and evaluations using RS Means
  • Evaluates existing building conditions and writes reports of findings and recommendations for new projects or existing projects
