GFT is seeking an Architect to join our Architectural Studio in Seattle, WA! This role is remote.   • Prepares project contract documents for assigned projects from initial concept design through final sheet set-up on project drawings, drawing schedules, plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Has a good understanding of how to create specifications.
  • Capable of motivating and leading and managing a small project team of varying staff levels including architects and engineers for a positive completion of multiple projects.
  • Responsible for project work during construction including but not limited to submittal review, field inspections, responding to RFI’s, supplemental work including sketches, or material approval during submittal review process.
  • Has a strong understanding of building codes and how to interpret and apply building codes to both new construction and to renovation or alteration projects.
  • Formulates and gathers code information on projects for review with supervisor.
  • Individual is capable of working proficiently on their own with direction from supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Develop presentations, designs, and technical solutions through all phases of a project.
  • Produce conceptual designs and renderings for project and presentation purposes.
  • Assist with preparing proposals.
  • Assist with marketing and managing clients.
  • Perform building surveys and forensic investigations.
  • Knowledgeable of how to create project schedules and project cost estimates.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • 5-8 years' related experience required.
  • Proficiency in REVIT Building Information Modeling Architecture with experience in both design and construction documentation is required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite.
  • Experience with 3D Modeling software such as Sketch Up Pro, Rhino/3D Max or similar is a plus.
  • Must be dynamic, creative and detail oriented.
  • Working knowledge of current International Building Codes, NFPA, ADA, LEED, and knowledge of related standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ASHRAE etc.
  • Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of communicating and / or presenting concepts and thoughts through verbal, written, or drawing medium.
  • Licensed /Registered Architect in the United States.
  • Experience with MicroStation a plus.
  • Experience with specification writing/editing.
