About The Position

Waggonner & Ball, a Moffatt & Nichol Studio, is actively seeking an entry/junior level Architectural Designer with landscape interests to join their New Orleans office. The successful Designer will be actively working with Registered Architects and Registered Landscape Architects on projects across the United States. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with 2 years of related design experience OR Master's degree in Architecture with entry (0) years of experience
  • Interest in Landscape Architecture and willingness to learn design from licensed professionals
  • Interest in working at all scales of design, from regional systems to details, and all project phases
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Interest in completing ARE, LARE, LEED AP, or NCIQ exams
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
  • Employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Design Team to develop and advance creative design concepts for clients/projects
  • Produces drawings to create and document architectural and landscape designs
  • Assists in the development and revision of production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as required
  • Assists in design analysis and compilation of specifications for basic to complex assignments
  • Assists in preparation of finished material sample boards and graphic presentations for client approval
  • Assists with coordination of outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants
  • Supports review of building codes and zoning analyses to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards
  • Takes initiative to explore current graphic standards and building construction methods
  • Researches construction materials and systems
  • Performs other duties as requested by management
