Alfonso Hernandez Architect, LLC is an award-winning architectural firm located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach, FL. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and well-mannered individual to join our team as an Architect / Job Captain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating with the design principal and managing quality projects from initial concepts through to construction and project completion. The projects we undertake range from civic and master planning to commercial, mixed-use, high-rise residential, luxury residential, retail, and historic restoration. In this role, the Architect / Job Captain will be expected to be well-versed in various areas of the architectural process. This includes assisting the design principal with design plan presentations using various rendering software such as Photoshop, Lumion, PowerPoint, InDesign, SketchUp, and VR systems. The candidate should enjoy managing quality construction documents and be capable of detailing projects properly. Responsibilities also include performing zoning and code research, creating project schedules, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring that project specifications are met while adhering to deadlines. Additionally, the Architect / Job Captain will assist with construction administration services, which involves attending site visits (own transportation required), supporting the team with field reports, RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, maintaining project binders, and coordinating effectively with general contractors and clients. Participation in project presentations and events may also be required, along with other duties as assigned. The position may require availability to work on weekends when necessary.
