With preliminary direction from a design principal, utilize CAD and 3D modeling programs including, Rhino, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and hand sketching to create design concepts, develop building and produce compelling presentations for design projects and design pursuit competitions in various project types including corporate commercial, civic, student housing, healthcare, higher education, K-12, science and technology, and food services. Take part in production of architectural drawings for schematic design, design development and construction documentation phase deliverables using building information modeling software (Revit) including, site plan, floor plans, roof plan, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, furniture and equipment plans, code compliance plans, building elevations, building sections, enlarged elevations, wall sections, exterior envelope details, interior details, finish schedule, door schedule and window schedule. Develop creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team. Use rendering and graphic design software including Lumion, Enscape, Twinmotion, Photoshop, Illustrator to produce in-house rendering images in different stages of design to share a better understanding of the designer's vision with clients. Advocate living design and sustainable practices and utilize tools such as Climate studio and Diva to study daylighting and solar radiation and tools like Tally and EC3 to study and optimize building embodied carbon and perform building life cycle analysis. Make contribution to the LEED certification documentation and submission process, facilitating the attainment of environmentally sustainable building certifications. Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors, and take an active role in crafting client and non-client design presentations and preparing corresponding materials. Coordinate architectural drawings with consultant drawing sets, ensuring seamless alignment and promptly resolving any discrepancies that arise. Engage actively in weekly clash detection sessions alongside contractors and consultants using BIM models and NavisWorks software preconstruction. Research local, state and international building codes and regulations to create a report that outlines regulatory project constraints. Manage file transmissions, project data, and CA communications through firm standard processes utilizing BIM360, Microsoft Sharepoint, and Microsoft Teams. Review contractor submittals including shop drawings, product data, samples, and mock ups, and respond to construction RFIs in a timely manner. Carry out site visits and prepare field observations, punch lists, and record drawings.
