About The Position

The College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University is seeking a full-time Architect to assist in managing architectural projects related to space needs, facility maintenance, safety, and construction across the state. This position involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of architectural projects, from conception to closeout, while collaborating with various stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Architecture or a closely related field.
  • Possession of an Oregon Architect License or the ability to obtain it within six months of appointment.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in designing and overseeing building construction and/or renovation.
  • Minimum of three years of administrative experience, including budget and project management.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with organizations that have high research activity or multi-site operations.
  • Experience supervising and engaging with professionals to foster teamwork.
  • Experience with eBuilder or other project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire construction project lifecycle, including selecting and hiring contractors, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with design plans.
  • Lead scope meetings to assess space and facility needs, explore construction options, and develop initial proposals with detailed cost estimates.
  • Manage the creation of comprehensive construction documents and contracts, ensuring accuracy in working drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of facilities and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive records pertaining to sites, utilities, and floor plans for AES units.
