Requirements

  • Able to support multiple Project Managers across various projects simultaneously.
  • Possesses a general understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking direction, while proactively taking appropriate actions without constant supervision.
  • Manages multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
  • A collaborative team player with clients, project teams, and contractors.
  • Strong oral and written communicator.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, InDesign, and Photoshop; experience with Lumion, SketchUp, and Newforma
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required
  • Registered Professional Architect in NY or NJ

Nice To Haves

  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP certification preferred
  • Experience with the design of large infrastructure transit projects preferred
  • Working knowledge of the NYCMTA and PANYNJ preferred

Responsibilities

  • Keep the Project Manager updated on progress, expectations, deadlines, and deliverables within your responsibilities.
  • Participate in team meetings, charrettes, and coordination sessions.
  • Assist in monitoring and coordinating internal team and external consultant work and deadlines.
  • Support project teams in developing designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
  • Develop design concepts, renderings, and presentation drawings.
  • Utilize Autodesk Revit and other BIM technologies to create three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
  • Prepare and revise documentation across various architectural phases, including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
  • Coordinate building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure they align with the design intent.
  • Assist with contract administration tasks.
  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
  • Implement sustainable design principles into building designs and the surrounding environment.
  • Conduct site analysis and research concepts, benchmarks, typologies, and precedents.
