About The Position

Camp North Homes is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Archery Facilitator to provide structured and engaging outdoor programming. This role is responsible for leading archery instruction, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and ensuring proper facilitation of activities in alignment with Camp North Homes’ mission. The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth development, outdoor recreation, and skill-building through archery and other camp activities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and behavioral management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changing environments, and work effectively with youth.
  • Must be non-judgmental regarding the lifestyle, race, and economic status of clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in recreational programming, archery instruction, or residential camp operations is preferred.
  • Certification in NASP (or willingness to obtain) is highly desirable.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a bonus (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all youth, participants, and staff by following Camp North Homes policies, NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) and other relevant certifications.
  • Clearly communicate rules, expectations, and responsibilities to non-facilitating staff.
  • Manage behaviors and interactions to create a physically and emotionally safe environment for all participants.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner and submit them to the Camp Director.
  • Plan and lead structured archery sessions, ensuring all equipment is used and maintained safely.
  • Prepare lesson plans, backup activities, and materials to accommodate various skill levels, ages, and abilities.
  • Inspect and maintain archery equipment, removing damaged items from circulation and reporting needs to the Camp Director.
  • Develop engaging archery skill-building and recognition programs, including a system for motivation, rewards, and graduation ceremonies.
  • Adapt programming based on weather, group dynamics, and safety considerations.
  • Assist in planning and leading special events, outings, and structured recreational activities.
  • Propose and develop new camp activities to enhance programming, pending approval from the Camp Director.
  • Ensure that all supplies and equipment are properly stored, secured, and maintained.
