About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a n Archaeology Intern to join our Atlanta, GA office. ABOUT US AtkinsRéalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization. Requirements

  • 0-2 Years experience in a related technical field.
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a Bachelor’s or 1 year towards a Master’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, art history , urban planning, public history, American Studies, or another closely aligned academic discipline from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company policy.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ArcGIS is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Participate in archaeological resource field surveys.
  • Conduct background research on archaeological resources using a variety of primary and secondary sources.
  • Work with project archaeologists to evaluate historic resources for eligibility in the National Register of Historic Places, in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and/or the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA).
  • Aid in the preparation of Archaeological Resource Survey Reports for distribution to state and federal agencies.
  • Must be prepared to spend time in the field and travel to project sites in Georgia and neighboring states , with occasional overnight visits .
