About The Position

TRC's Bath, ME Office is seeking Temporary Archaeological Field Technicians for projects in the New England and New York Region. We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to technical excellence and a strong work ethic. The position will require regular travel away and some projects may require overtime and/or extended workdays and work weeks. Candidates may be required to walk long distances and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments and conditions (steep terrain, heat, cold).

Requirements

• A completed or in progress BA degree in anthropology or archaeology
• One or more years of experience in archaeological surveys and/or excavations
• Ability to think critically in the field
• Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, ESRI Field Maps etc.) preferred
• A commitment to quality and safety
• A willingness to walk long distances and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments and conditions (i.e. steep terrain, heat, cold, etc.)
• Applicants must be willing to travel, have excellent communication skills, and work well on a team and individually
• A valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle records check
• A strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of archaeological data, fieldwork, and paperwork
• Perform archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring
• Complete tasks in a timely fashion; coordinate with field supervisors regarding project requirements and expectations
• Abide by TRC's policies and procedures
