About The Position

The Arcade Technician is responsible for the day-to-day technical operation, maintenance, and presentation of a new 70-game arcade located within the Nittany Valley Sports Centre. This role serves as the primary technician for the arcade, ensuring that all games and related systems are operating safely, reliably, and at peak performance. Reporting to the General Manager, the Arcade Technician plays a critical role in guest satisfaction by minimizing downtime, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the successful launch and ongoing operation of the arcade. This position requires strong technical skills, the ability to work independently, and a customer-service mindset.

  • Working knowledge of circuit boards, soldering, and electronic components
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience repairing video, redemption, or amusement games
  • Experience with monitors, power supplies, and vending equipment
  • Familiarity with arcade management or card-based payment systems
  • Experience supporting new game installations or arcade launches

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technician responsible for the maintenance and repair of all arcade and redemption games
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues at the PCB, power, and logic circuit levels
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and game performance
  • Use diagnostic tools including volt/ohm meters and schematics to troubleshoot issues
  • Repair and replace components including circuit boards, monitors, power supplies, cables, fuses, actuators, computers, etc.
  • Install, configure, test, and commission new arcade games and equipment in conjunction with the arcade consultant
  • Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and safe operation of all games
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, electronics, and all game prizes
  • Coordinate with operations staff, arcade attendants, and birthday party hosts to ensure a smooth guest experience
  • Document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage as required
  • Manage an assistant to provide support the Arcade Technician is not on duty or in the facility
  • Support a positive guest experience by minimizing game downtime and responding quickly to issues
  • Interact professionally with guests and staff to explain issues or timelines when needed
  • Ensure all games are clean, safe, and presentable to the public at all times
  • Support special events, peak usage periods, and new game rollouts
