The individual is responsible for performing preventive, routine, and minor maintenance in the lead area and the Hazardous Waste Disposal area. They will operate production equipment related to remelting lead, producing lead shot, incinerating hazardous waste, and recycling materials. This includes, but is not limited to, equipment such as Bleimeister, El Dorado, and CCU. The individual will also carry out changeovers on production machines and related support equipment as needed and in a timely manner. Additionally, the individual must maintain productivity levels to meet all established goals in the Lead and Hazardous Waste Disposal areas while adhering to all quality standards. They are required to follow both oral and written instructions, wear the necessary protective equipment, and comply with all plant safety rules and regulations. The individual is expected to support the facility's mission, meet assigned goals, and adhere to the plant's safety and ISO objectives and directives. This position reports to Chris Veath, the Maintenance Manager based at our Lonoke facility. As the ARC Plant Operator, you will have an opportunity to: Always work in a safe and orderly manner. Follow plant, department, and area rules and regulations and actively encourage fellow team members to do the same. Obtain, maintain, and wear or use all necessary safety equipment as instructed by work guidelines and the area supervisor. Attend shift, department, and plant meetings promptly as directed by the supervisor. Perform changeovers on machines and related support equipment promptly as instructed by the area supervisor. Troubleshoot and carry out light maintenance on malfunctioning machines. Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on production machinery and associated support equipment on a scheduled basis or as needed. Assist Project, Process, and R&D Engineers in developing and troubleshooting new and revised products and processes as required. Serve as a mentor to Technicians in training to ensure process integrity and that best practices are being followed Operate of hand tools, acetylene torches, forklift, and other mobile equipment. You have: Complete Hazardous Waste Management training within six months of starting the job and annually thereafter. All employees handling hazardous waste must work under the direct supervision of a supervisor or another trained employee until they have completed their Hazardous Waste Management training. High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or recognized equivalent and 18 years of age or older Minimum of one year of verifiable experience with the same or similar manufacturing equipment and tasks as those in place in the assigned work area(s) High attentiveness for safety and detection of problems. Reading and math comprehension to understand and interpret quality information (SPC, charts, graphs, etc.), and to complete production reporting. Interpersonal communication skills to problem-solve and to function effectively as part of a work team. Flexibility to move between jobs and to handle many tasks simultaneously. Must pass the company’s standard mechanical aptitude evaluation for Mechanics. Demonstrated ability to work with numbers and carry out quick calculations. Strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to perform assigned responsibilities under minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with co-workers. Above average housekeeping skills (cleanliness of work area). Excellent safety record and demonstrated a bove average safe work habits. Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator. Must possess basic computer skills sufficient to navigate menus and fill in basic forms, open and print,and edit documents. Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language sufficient to perform the following: Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors. Read and comprehend process instructions. Record pertinent process information as required.
