As an ArcGIS Software Engineer at Orchard LLC, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Intelligence and Defense community by developing and maintaining a powerful platform that transforms disparate data into actionable information. This position is crucial for enabling users to tackle complex real-world problems, particularly in the realm of Geospatial Intelligence. You will collaborate closely with operational users to design, develop, and maintain capabilities that empower analysts to derive actionable intelligence from vast volumes of data, thereby providing our intelligence and combat organizations with a significant decision-making advantage over near-peer adversaries. Your responsibilities will include developing with JavaScript and Node.js, creating RESTful APIs, and querying geospatial data from ESRI or OGC APIs. Familiarity with the ArcGIS Enterprise Suite and tools like ArcMap or ArcPro is preferred. You will also be tasked with enhancing mission systems for various Government agencies, integrating multiple applications, and designing software solutions that address logical and mathematical challenges. Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting your work, testing and debugging software, and contributing to user manuals. The role requires a strong understanding of computer capabilities and symbolic logic, as well as experience in assigning and reviewing the work of developer personnel. You will utilize rapid prototyping and Agile methodologies to develop innovative analytical solutions, leveraging Java-based technologies to create enterprise systems. Your experience in research and development will be essential for transitioning ideas into production systems, ensuring that the solutions you create are both effective and efficient.
