About The Position

Shermco Industries is seeking an Arc Flash Engineer to provide engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international projects. The role involves conducting short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies, as well as performing power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis. The engineer will occasionally interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans, and may also work in the field under the direction of the Field Services team on shut-down, startup, and maintenance projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years relevant experience; prefer educational focus in Power Systems studies.
• Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies preferred.
• Must have experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EZPower, or other power system modeling software.
• Must have knowledge of low, medium and high-voltage up to 500 kV.
• Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable doing so directly to customers and co-workers.

Nice To Haves

• Field experience with substations or switchgear highly desirable.
• Utility design experience a plus.
• Availability for occasional domestic and international travel a plus.
