About The Position

As a Trimmer at Lewis Tree Service, you will be part of a tight-knit crew working in a team environment. Your primary responsibilities will include performing line clearing and tree trimming duties for utility customers, which involves pruning treetops and limbs, trimming or removing at-risk or damaged trees, and removing broken limbs from wires and roofs. You will operate a bucket for trimming and removals in and above power lines, prepare, operate, and maintain all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. Additionally, you will be responsible for removing limbs and brush, cleaning up and disposing of debris, mixing and applying spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation, and safeguarding employees and the public from hazards in and around the working area. You will also help enforce on-the-job safety practices.

Requirements

  • At least one year's experience working as a Trimmer around utility wires.
  • Knowledge of trees including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques.
  • Experience in operating a bucket, knot tying, and PPE.
  • Ability to perform physical labor such as lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more.
  • Capable of operating two-handed equipment (chain saw, circular saw, etc.) and endure extreme climate variances.
  • Willing and able to obtain specialized training and certifications as required.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests.
  • Valid Driver's License.
