The Davey Tree Expert Company is looking for exceptional students who are interested in expanding their field experience in the areas of Tree Care, Plant Health Care, Sales and Client Services. This is a Spring - Summer 2026 Arborist Trainee Internship based in Tacoma/Kent, WA. Interns will learn to be tree doctors, gaining hands-on experience in tree care, tree climbing, chainsaw use, plant health care, and customer service. Internships may vary in length depending on availability, and interns will be assigned a manager for mentorship throughout their experience.

Learn tree care techniques and practices.
Gain experience in tree climbing and chainsaw use.
Assist in plant health care and customer service.
Work on residential and commercial properties.
Participate in office setting tasks.
Complete the CDP 'C' Climber/Trimmer Career Development Booklet.
Begin completing the Plant Health Care Career Development Booklet.

Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline.
Driver's license required; Commercial driver's license highly valuable.
Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
Love of the outdoors.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Demonstrated ability to report for work regularly and punctually.
Collaboration and communication skills.
