About The Position

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to direct crew members and equipment while planning and executing assigned work or tasks. This position involves leading a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients, including climbing trees using various climbing systems, pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood, installing cables and bracing systems, and removing hazardous trees. The role also includes mentoring crew members and maintaining all tools and equipment necessary for the job.

Requirements

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.

• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates.
• ISA Certified Arborist.

• TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients.
• Implement the Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
