About The Position

The AR Representative at Mecklenburg Radiology Associates is responsible for managing patient accounts with unpaid balances, analyzing insurance denials, and ensuring accurate billing processes. This role involves daily reviews of charges, communication with insurance companies, and patient interactions to resolve account issues. • 2-4 years of medical billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily review of charges to be submitted to insurance carriers and/or contract invoices.
• Verify correct CPT codes, diagnosis codes, and modifiers billed.
• Daily working of ticklers and denied charges.
• Daily critique of electronic claim errors in PM system.
• Daily critique of clearinghouse claim rejections.
• Contact insurance companies regarding unpaid claims and patient eligibility.
• Compose/submit appeals and corrected claims to insurance payers.
• Review patient accounts for open balances, moving balances to patient responsibility.
• Speak with patients regarding their account status.
• Correspondence including medical record requests.
• Payment reconciliation related to payer profiles and modifier payment reductions.
• Credit balance reconciliation related to refund request letters.
• Backup customer service, answering incoming calls during high volume.
• Post patient credit card payments.
• Other duties as assigned.
