Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Aquatics Department
Requirements
High School Diploma preferred or equivalent experience.
Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisor and fellow employees in English.
Must be able to analyze routine data to make appropriate judgments regarding the process of inspecting/cleaning guest rooms and supervisory duties.
Current Lifeguard Certification including CPR and First Aid required.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work long hours/split shifts and be able to handle stressful conditions.
Must be able to swim 200 continuous yards and retrieve 10 lb. brick from the bottom of 5 1/2 feet and tread water with no hands for 2 minutes.
May be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime. Depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
Wet and/or humid conditions.
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Responsibilities
Lead by example, have a team mentality
Supervise lifeguard and slide attendant staff and promote a positive work environment.
Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed
Maintain order and enforce pool rules in swimming and sauna areas.
Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administer first aid.
Clean the pool and sauna regularly of loose debris.
Keep chairs, etc. in order, arranging them neatly within the pool deck area.
Report to management any safety hazardous.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination within and other departments.
Maintains a working knowledge of Holiday Inn Resort emergency procedures, administers and coordinates emergency first aid as necessary, as well as, documenting incidents involving guests and employees.
