About the position

The position involves supporting the planning and coordination of a program and its activities. The individual will work closely with the director to determine current needs for the program and ensure the implementation of policies and procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining the budget, tracking expenditures, managing communication through media relations and social media, scheduling and organizing meetings and events, and supporting growth and program development. Additionally, the role requires monitoring daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations, maintaining accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance, and ensuring staff certifications are up to date. The individual will also conduct lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid, and CPR trainings, create and schedule swim classes, water fitness classes, and swim team practices and meets, and perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain accurate records of staff certifications.
  • Conduct and ensure proper maintenance of pools.
  • Secure and schedule pool facilities.
  • Conduct lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings.
  • Create and schedule swim classes, water fitness classes, and swim team practices and meets.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College Degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator of people or related activity.
  • Ability to use typical business software and office equipment.
  • Understanding of the role of volunteerism within the YMCA.
  • Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
