About The Position

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking an Aquatics Program Director to lead and manage the aquatics programs at the branch. This role involves overseeing staff, ensuring water safety, and providing excellent customer service while developing and supervising a strong team of lifeguards and swim instructors. The ideal candidate will be an organized problem-solver with a commitment to maintaining high standards in aquatic programming and operations.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
• One to two years related experience preferred
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
• Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, AED, and O2
• Prior experience as Swim Lesson Instructor

• Bilingual-English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises branch aquatic program activities
• Manages staff, volunteers, and budget for aquatics at the branch
• Reviews and evaluates staff performance
• Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete
• Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations
• Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools
• Secures and schedules pool facilities
• Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and maintenance
• Conducts lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid, and CPR trainings
• Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events
• Other duties as assigned
