About The Position

Assist in the operation, maintenance and inspection of swimming pools, water slides and other related equipments as required to support the operation of a large amusement facility. We provide on-the-job training, an no previous related experience is required.

Requirements

  • Must be safety-conscious and show vigilance and attentiveness to their work.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team to perform a variety of tasks as assigned.
  • Must possess good communications skills including reading and legible writing to complete standardized safety inspection reports.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver License, Class ‘C’ or greater.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for entire shift in all weather and lighting conditions.
  • Must be able to work at heights and from ladders and platforms.
  • Must have good vision to inspect water slides and other features, including during periods of darkness utilizing flashlights and headlamps.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and perform repetitive motion tasks.
  • Must be able to work in small spaces including water slide tubes down to 32” diameter.
  • Must be able to work in areas with exposure to chlorinated swimming pool water, loud noises requiring the use of hearing protection, and dusty conditions requiring the use of dust respirators.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to swim without flotation devices.
  • Must meet all scheduling requirements, including weekends, nights, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
  • 18 years or older

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine safety inspections of water slides, structures and systems as instructed and trained. Document findings on inspection reports and checklists. Report any unusual conditions to department supervision.
  • Visually inspect swimming pools, grates and decks as instructed and trained. Remove debris, etc. from these areas using nets or other equipment as instructed.
  • Assist department personnel with routine duties such as cleaning strainer baskets, operating valves and pump controls as instructed and trained.
  • Routine cleaning of work areas and various equipment.
  • Routine maintenance of ornamental water systems including cleaning strainer baskets, netting debris and other light maintenance as instructed.
  • Other duties as assigned to support general operation, safe conditions, and enhance aesthetic qualities for our guests.
