About The Position

The Aquatic Director is responsible for the efficient, effective, and service minded operation of the swimming pool facility and for the health, safety, welfare, and satisfaction of Members and Guests using the clubs pool and related facilities, in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures of Augusta Country Club. This position aligns with the pool facility opening around Memorial Day and through Labor Day. Position includes pre-opening planning requirements and end of season closure duties. This position reports to the Clubhouse Manager. General requirements of position Weekly / Daily hour requirement: up to 40 hours/week + potential for overtime if needed Will hire, schedule, and manage a team of part-time, seasonal lifeguards Will be main individual responsible for swim team and swim lesson operations Establish daily opening, running, and closing procedures such as pool cleaning, checking & notating chemicals, & monitoring restroom facilities. Will work closely with Director of Maintenance/ACC’s CPO and Director of Security Will work closely with ACC’s pool cleaning company Identify and train assistant pool manager. This individual will help with managerial duties Monitor and manage Member and Guest daily sign-in logs, cleanliness, towel check-outs, and junior / babysitting protocols and policies Train lifeguard team on towel service best practices at ACC, will receive on job training Will lead scheduled swim team parental meetings and lifeguard trainings Monitor and make decisions around weather (thunder / lightning) protocols Responsible for submitting daily logs Will enthusiastically promote the aquatic facilities and programs as a safe and fun amenity for ACC’s membership In summary, the Aquatic Director holds overall responsibility for the summer season safety at the pool, as well as managerial, administrative, facility, swim team, and swim lesson duties.

Responsibilities

  • Efficient and effective operation of the swimming pool facility
  • Ensuring the health, safety, welfare, and satisfaction of Members and Guests
  • Hiring, scheduling, and managing a team of part-time, seasonal lifeguards
  • Being responsible for swim team and swim lesson operations
  • Establishing daily opening, running, and closing procedures
  • Working closely with Director of Maintenance/ACC’s CPO and Director of Security
