About The Position

This position provides direct leadership to all Aquatics and Recreation programs and staff while the Aquatics and Recreation Director is not in the building. Aquatics and Recreation Director: Has positive, effective, calm and professional communication - verbally and written - with staff, members, children and parents - tailoring the communication style to the appropriate audience Self-motivated and resourceful with a strong understanding of the YMCA mission. Has the ability to attract and maintain members to classes through safe and effective instruction and interaction. Proficient use of computers with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Word. Able to make sound decisions during stressful or potentially dangerous situations. The ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions Is a visible presence during Aquatics and Recreation programming when the Director is absent. Conducts check-ins to all programs - talking with any staff and/or parents about concern. Provides Aquatics and Recreation Director feedback. Reminds parents about registering for upcoming classes and delivers evaluation forms

Requirements

  • 18 years old
  • CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid
  • Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness
